Peer Mentors Blog Entry – 23rd January 2013

Welcome back after the Christmas break. We are now into our third week at term and already it has been eventful!

The first week’s assemblies focused on our attendance. Pupils with 100% attendance for last half term received their attendance certificate from the School Council.

Year 8 have received First Aid training in CPR and are enjoying the training. It is something we think is important and hope that others can also benefit from the training at a later date.

Each Tutor group in the school delivers one assembly each year to the whole school. They can pick the topics and we have had a wide range of topics this year. This morning’s assembly was on Domestic Abuse. It was very interesting as the year 9 are working on a 6 week project delivered by the charity.

This term the Peer Mentors’ focus will be looking at Anti-Bullying. We are developing our ideas for a project to continue on from the work done last year.

We are all looking forward to the rest of the term and Spring is on the way!
