Can you remember as a child, the fun, the exhilaration of play? The disappointment when it was time to go in. The Children of Audley Residents' Association (CARA) is formed by concerned Audley residents who aim to bring back those happy times, for all the children of Audley and surrounding areas. To create a park, a safe place for both the young and the elderly. To bring them together and encourage a mutual respect. Our park will encourage children off the streets where they can become targets for the destructive and dysfunctional. They deserve the opportunity to develop a healthy and happy life.
The members of CARA are mums, dads, nanas, who see how easy it is for a vulnerable child to make a wrong decision.
The children today have nowhere safe to play. They have unspent energy and no direction in which to aim it. We at CARA are determined to give them a place to be a child and play without repercussions.
The local nursery has been following our plans with avid interest, they have spoken of their need for somewhere local to take the children to on sunny days. Locals who currently drive out of the area to entertain their children would have the opportunity to leave their cars at home and walk to their own park. Our park would be monitored at all times, our children will be safe. We are determined to take our children back, off the streets, out of harms way. That isn’t just our duty, its every parent and adults duty. CARA needs your support. We have been supported by Aspire housing association and the local schools, Sir Thomas Boughey High School and Ravensmead Primary School.
Who else cares enough for our children or their future. We have come to a point in society that our most treasured assets are no longer of concern, if we don’t use our own voices on their behalf, no-one will hear them.
So let us show that we still believe that our children’s needs come first.
