Halloween Celebrations Click here to visit the Photo Gallery of the event

The Children of Audley Residents' Association's (CARA) annual Halloween party was organised at the Audley & District Workingmen's Club on 29th October.

Shown in the photograph are Kaitlin Chadwick, Mitchell Newton, Lucy Jones and Linda Shaw who were the winners of the costume competition, with Lee Moss the evenings compeer and members of the Residents Committee. All the competitors were winners having put so much time and effort into trying to play a part of an enjoyable evening. Parents and children of all age groups had gathered and the club was bursting to capacity with smiley faces enjoying a night for all of them to remember.

Audley Carnival

A group of residents have managed to bring back the carnival in Audley after more than 40 years to boost community spirits. Mary Moss recalls the last time there was a carnival in Audley, she was a child dressed as a cigarette pack. Now a grand mother of 13, she makes up a part of the Children of Audley Residents Association.

The carnival is now an annual event. The event usually begins with the gathering of Floats on Queen Street, the procession begins at 9:30am and makes its way around Audley to return back to Queen Street. At 10:30am, the fun day begins at Wereton Road Park with many competitions such as Baby Competition, Glamorous Gran Competition, Knobbly Knees Contest, etc. The annual Miss Audley contest is also held during the carnival.

We would like to thank Aspire for their constant support in making this event a huge success.

Stars In Their Eyes Click here to visit the Photo Gallery of the event

Stars in their eyes is an event organised to develop community spirit and try to bring the elderly and the young together. Amongst various other fantastic performances the event also featured a marvellous performance by a group of elderly ladies who share more than 700 years between them. The evening was filled with fun with both the young and the young at hearts having a great time together.

The event was overall a huge success and we are looking forward for it the next year. We would also like to invite other participants to come forward with their performances for the next year's event.
