Co-operative Rebrand Unveiled

The Co-operative Group has finally relaesed details on its much hyped rebrand at this years Co-operative Congress in Glasgow. The speaker, Catherine Charnock, gave us a detailed guide to the rebrand, and informed us of some very interesting details.

United Considering a Bid for Somerfields
Speculation that United is considering a bid for the Somerfield Chain has been confirmed. Press reports indicate that United Chief, Peter Marks and his team are considering a bid for the UK's fifth largest supermarket group. United is already the UK's largest independent Co-operative Society with a trading area mainly in the North of England. If successful this bid would transform United into a national society with foodstores at least equal in number to the
Co-operative Group.

Co-operative Movement is the venue of this year's Congress. Congress has been held in Glasgow five times since the start of the current series of Congresses in 1869.
This year promises to be a record year in more ways than one, not only will there be a wider international representation it will be the first year representatives from the new Co-op Schools will attend Congress.
