Numeracy in Geography

Numeracy is embedded throughout the Geography curriculum, and is a necessary part of pupils’ study at STB, both at KS3 and KS4. With pupils required to determine grid references and demonstrate an understanding of scale, as well as calculate fluvial discharge, and glacial ablation rates.

The Geography department has been working closely with members of the Maths department to enhance its approaches to teaching numeracy and graphicacy, and develop an array of resources and learning displays [above] to help and support pupils.
