Having won the toss we got on side. With positive play and fast passing, STB moved the ball swiftly down court into Megan James hands, she took the shot and swoosh the ball went in. The first competitive goal of the season! The first half flowed nicely with tight marking from Nicole Turner, and Chloe Johnson making some lovely interceptions. The team passed accurately and at pace. Half time score was 7 / 3 to STB. The second half started with fast pace and STBs attack of Shannon Fahey, Megan James and Emma Hancock were in full flow. Megan James demonstrating epic long distance shots and movement around the D, and was named Man of the Match. The final score was a win of 17 / 8 to STB. Superb first game to the season.

The second game was straight after v Newcastle.

The team were clearly buzzing and excited to feel success again. The game commenced with Beth Moore and Emily Southwick both making some superb interceptions as Newcastle gave us a harder battle. However Beth did have to check at half time that the girl from the opposite teams face was ok after she accidently hit it with the ball. Emma Hancock was all over the court making interceptions left, right and centre, much to her opponent’s frustration. Megan James and Becky Herberts team work in the D was nearly text book and between the two of them managed to sink 16 goals before the whistle. Score – STB win 16 / 8. Emma Hancock was Man of the Match.

This is a super start to the season. Well done!
