Licence to Cook is an entitlement for all students in maintained secondary schools in England. It provides a programme to enable students to learn to cook and understand the principles of diet and nutrition, health and safety and wise food shopping.
Welcome...

The trend over the last few years for pupils in schools to have limited training in basic cooking was highlighted by the government as a problem. Taking advantage of new guidelines we were one of the first in the area to provide cooking courses for all at Key stages 3. The pilot here last year was a remarkable success. As a result the scheme will be further rolled out to pupils across the first three years. Hopefully Most will be ale to check out their skills through a qualification 'Licence to Cook' as well as try out their new ideas on parents at home!
Mrs Wilding who has been responsible for the project reports:
"They have been very enthusiastic and appear to have really enjoyed themselves. In addition to learning how to cook they also learn how to eat healthy. Vital skills for their future".
The school is also working closely with the Co-operative group to help develop the idea
This section of the school website has been launched in order to provide a place where parents and pupils can access recipes to use at home.

Recipe of The Week
