Geography is an important part of the school curriculum and is a popular choice at GCSE. Many of our pupils also choose to continue to study Geography post 16.
|Key Stage 3
Year 7, 8 and 9
|All pupils receive 2 hours of Geography lessons per week.|
|GCSE||Pupils are taught in mixed ability option blocks with 3 hours of teaming time.
The department follows the AQA A Syllabus.
Homework is set each week and supports pupils learning and progress.
The department also aims to provide opportunities to study Geography outside the classroom (LOTC) using the school grounds, local area, fieldwork to the Peak District and GCSE Study Tours. Previous tours have been to Iceland, Sorrento and the Lake District.
