Year 10 Catering students go for Afternoon Tea!
In preparation for their Controlled Assessment examination next week, Year 10 GCSE Catering students had the opportunity to go for Afternoon Tea in the Atrium restaurant at Stoke-on-Trent College. We had a lovely couple of hours, hosted by the Hospitality & Catering students at the college. We tried a range of different teas; Earl Grey, Ginger & Orange, Peppermint & Chamomile but the firm favourite was still good old English Breakfast!
We were served four types of sandwiches, followed by Fruit Tarts, Profiteroles, Meringues and Scones. The food was lovely. Everyone really enjoyed it.
The experience has helped students to identify how to present their items for their examination. The size, portion control, decorative items and garnish were all examined!
All of us had a great time; thank you to the team at Stoke-on-Trent College for their hospitality!
